Over the past few weeks I have been doing just that! I've been working with clients to edit their closets, and I've done some work on my own closet as well. I feel like after 3 years of searching for my own personal style, I've finally found it and I am thrilled. Below is a look that is similar to what I wore to brunch with Joe on Saturday morning to get some delicious Belgian-inspired food to fuel us into the New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope you all are kicking off this year feeling refreshed and ready to tackle your fashion woes in 2012. The new year is a fantastic time to wipe the slate clean: clean out your closet, get rid of those clothes that are worn or don't fit, make a list of what your closet is missing and hit the sales!

I'll be honest - I read a lot of blogs - and you know what I've learned from reading these fashion blogs and dressing myself since I started this little blog? The majority of being "stylish" is the ability to create an interesting look and feel totally, 100%, confident in it. If you don't believe you look great, no one else will. Now that's not to say that you can wear a ridiculous outfit worthy of a "What Not To Wear" feature and because you're confident, people will think you look awesome; it does mean that if you go a little off the reservation with an outfit - stripes + pattern + multiple colors - and you somehow managed to relate all of the pieces to each other to create a final look, all while LOVING it - other people will probably think you look pretty "stylish" and wonder how they can pull that off too.
Have no fear friends, for today, I have gone a little out in left field for you, so you don't have to. Hope you enjoy!

I am currently obsessed with chambray shirts and leopard shoes paired with a colorful bottom {check with me in another 6 months and I am sure I won't feel the same way, but such is life in the world of fashion}. The combination creates such a fun and playful look, and because of how trendy all of the pieces are, it is also SO easy to create the look on a variety of budgets. Although I took all three bottoms in the example below from J.Crew, even Forever21 is selling similar pieces since the idea is so trendy. You can also find chambray shirts and leopard shoes everywhere right now, so for a lower budget, try looking at Target and H&M, and for a higher-end budget, I love the Sam Edelman Alvin leopard loafers.
So tell me, which combo would you choose!?
