Thrifty Thursday Girl's (week)Night Out

Headed to an event tonight with my closest girlfriends in Cincinnati that involves copious amounts of wine and 7 passed appetizers - sounds like a perfect evening to me!  Of course it will be relaxed, but every girl knows we like to dress more for other girls than for guys, so I already have my outfit picked out for tonight, but if I needed a thrifty find for a girls night out, this is what I'd wear... um, by the way, the clutch is TO DIE FOR... and it's from Payless! Score!!!  I also already have the necklace, I love it... in fact I am wearing it right now!!

Ruffle Overload?

Say it ain't so!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner so I decided today was the day to post my last outfit for the special occassion... so I may have gone a little overboard with the ruffle blazer, (slight)ruffle dress, and ruffle shoes - but come on girls, this is THE lovey-dovey gushy day - wear those ruffles!  I love this dress because it is perfection for Valentine's day, but take off the tights and you've also got yourself a beautiful dress for a Summer wedding.  The blazer could be used as your go-to jacket for those night's out when you just want something to cover you up until you get to your destination.  The shoes, oooooooh the shoes, how I covet them.  They come in a variety of colors, so if you're interested in these but have too many black shoes, have no fear!  The clutch and the necklace are simple accessories that go well with the outfit but could also be worn as accessories in many other outfits - the necklace is even simple enough to wear for a daytime look.

Loungentine's Day

Valentine's Day is on a Sunday this year, so what better way to celebrate it then to put something super cute on to sleep in on Saturday night so you're already in the festive spirit when you wake up Sunday?  Old Navy and Forever 21 have some very cute V-day jammies/bras/underwear available this year at great prices.  Below are just some of the cute ideas for Valentine's day lounging (how great would it be to wake up in the cute pink nightgown with fuzzy slippers while your hunny brings you a steaming cup of coffee??)

Casual Friday

If you know me, you know I think Valentine's day is a Hallmark Holiday and I don't really celebrate it with Joey, but I still love to dress for the occassion (shocker, right?).  So in the next week, I will be showing you different types of outfits to celebrate the holiday in, depending on what the day holds for you.  Today's Valentine's Day inspired outfit is fit for the casual, 'no big plans' kind of Valentine's Day.  I found the main clothing pieces from Forever 21 and American Eagle.  The jeans have holes in them, and I know that not everyone loves the idea, but with this outfit it really works because it looks a like "I just threw these on but I still look fabulous, don't I?"  (Nod with me here).  I adore the bra and underwear, and they are such good prices!  If La Perla isn't in your budget this year, definitely check out Forever's lingerie selection - I'll be doing a post on it in the coming days, but if you need something by Valentine's Day, check it out now!

The chuck taylor's are pinstriped !  How cool is that?  They add a bit more fun than the usual solid color chuck taylors, but still work with the relaxed feel of the rest of this look.

Cheap and Cheaper

Hi there blog world.  Sorry for my brief hiatus, but I am back!  My college roommate is going to California next weekend and I told her I would put together a few outfits for her.  I found a really cute peacock tee from Urban Outfitters and paired it with some dark jeans and a cream colored sweater-jacket for a cool, stylish relaxed vibe.  I really liked the look, so even though it was already very affordable, I made an even more affordable version for today.  Below are both looks - the first is the original outfit I put together, and the second one down is the even more affordable option, keeping the jeans and tee the same in both.  Hope you enjoy!
