European Jaunt

My lovelies, Joe and I are taking a vacation in just 10 short weeks to spend some days celebrating our friends' marriage outside of London, then we're going to take a few days to soak in some sun, eat some amazing food, and relax on a coastal town.  We haven't yet picked our coastal town, but Nice and Cinque Terra are our front runners (have you been to either? would love to hear your opinion!)  If we end up going to Nice, we'll most likely spend an evening in Monaco, pretending we're royalty and drooling over the amazing cars and beautiful people, and this is most certainly what I'll be wearing:

  1. If you are in the Nice area, Beaulieu Sur Mer is my favourite place on the Coast with a great meal at the African Queen. Enjoy. ax

  2. Amber - thank you for the recommendation! One vote for Nice (it is in the lead after some recommendations from friends, as well!) If we head there, will be sure to check out the African Queen.

  3. I lived in Antibes for a few years and that is a great little place and if you want an FLFL (f~~~ing long French lunch) Jaun Les Pins is the best place for lunch with your feet in the sand. I am not a big fan of Nice but it is fine. Do not get a taxi unless you have millions, but the trains are quick, cheap and offer great views. No where is far on that end of the coast. Have a great time. ax

  4. I know Kel, I love it too, however I do not love the $297 price tag... I will be hunting down a similar, affordable necklace!!!!!!!!

  5. Lauren! How wonderful and romantic and glamorous!

I was in Nice and Monaco when I was 16... part of the American Music Abroad Choir. Is there anything more dorky?! I remember two things: (1) it was GORGEOUS. The turquoise blue water, the soft sunlight, the gentle temperatures... and (2) I wore the worst-ever '80s fashions: cropped cotton wide-legged pants in the exact same turquoise as the sea, and a cropped white short-sleeved top with big faux-nautical black buttons and pale turquoise, lavender, and pink stripes. The horror!

  6. Melissa - I was in choir as a teen too, it's ok, we can both relish in the dorkiness of our past. Your outfit sounds a) awesome and b) very 80's chic.

    Another vote for Nice!

  8. A perfect dress for a European jaunt! I have personally been nowhere, so I can't advise on your travel, except to ask if you have room in your suitcase for me :-D
